Dear Readers:

In this edition of CubaPLUS CARICOM, we delve into the rich history of relations between Cuba and the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), guided by the words of Cuba’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Josefina Vidal. Vidal highlights that brotherhood, solidarity, and mutual cooperation have been the pillars of this relationship since the founding of CARICOM in 1973.

CubaPLUS CARICOM was born with the objective of strengthening the ties that unite Cuba with the Caribbean region. We strive to promote intercultural dialogue, collaboration in diverse areas, and above all, to provide a platform where the richness and diversity of the Caribbean can be appreciated.

In the following pages, we invite you on a visual journey through six enchanting Caribbean islands, and we present two must-see destinations waiting to be discovered: St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Guyana. Did you know that Guyana is known as The Land of Giants?.

Furthermore, discover how fashion becomes an expression of identity, culture, and heritage. In this edition, we converse with four talented designers who reinterpret the Caribbean with their own vision.

Welcome to CubaPLUS CARICOM!

DOMINIC ANTHONY SOAVE
