Trinidad and Tobago will continue to be present in Cuba, where it already has several institutions and will even continue to participate every year in the International Fair of Havana (FIHAV), which demonstrates the confidence of that nation in the market of the largest of the Antilles, declared Dr. Jude Carrasquero, representative of the Trade Facilitation Office of that country in the Cuban capital.
In an exclusive interview with this magazine regarding the celebration of the Day of the Caribbean in the recently completed FIHAV 2023, Carrasquero said that as it is known, your country is the first in the region in terms of trade and industry, so we have taken on the task of promoting links between Cuba and the Caribbean. “We are promoting a complete integration of the entire Caribbean area. A complete integration of markets, where Cuba has access to all 15 CARICOM countries and these have have access to the Cuban market.
In the current situation, it is a duty and a necessity to promote this economic integration between the Caribbean countries,” he highlighted. He later referred to the relations between Trinidad and Tobago and the greater Antilles and pointed out that these links cover all sectors: energy, manufacturing, agriculture, investments, industry, culture, construction. Thus we have very good bilateral ties. Trinidad and Tobago was present at the 39th edition of FIHAV with representatives of 14 companies and, in that context, a forum took place for business between that nation and Cuba that enabled the parties to explore sectors and niches in which they could strengthen economic and commercial ties.
