Jamaica has been a firm believer in regional integration and we are proud to have been one of the four original signatories of the Revised Treaty of Chaguaramas on the 4th July, 1973. This Agreement is the bedrock upon which the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) is built and, to this day, it continues to support and guide the regional integration movement.
As we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of CARICOM under the theme "A Solid Foundation to Build On," Jamaica reaffirms its unwavering support for the strengthening of the pillars on which this great Community stands.
Let us reflect, with pride, on the significant progress that has been made over the years despite challenging circumstances, and recommit, with a fixity of purpose and continuity of effort, to creating a stronger Community for the benefit of our peoples.

Jamaica ha sido un firme creyente en la integración regional y estamos orgullosos de haber sido uno de los cuatro signatarios originales del Tratado Revisado de Chaguaramas el 4 de julio de 1973. Este acuerdo es la piedra angular sobre la que se construye la Comunidad del Caribe (CARICOM) y, hasta el día de hoy, continúa apoyando y guiando el movimiento de integración regional.
Al celebrar el 50 aniversario de la CARICOM bajo el lema “50 años fuertes: una base sólida sobre la que construir”, Jamaica reafirma su apoyo inquebrantable al fortalecimiento de los pilares sobre los que se asienta esta gran comunidad.
Reflexionemos, con orgullo, sobre el progreso significativo que se ha logrado a lo largo de los años a pesar de las circunstancias difíciles y volvamos a comprometernos, con una fijación de propósito y continuidad de esfuerzos, a crear una comunidad más fuerte en beneficio de nuestros pueblos.
