“Authentic and wondrous”, is how the Cuban capital is defined in the campaign for the 500th anniversary of the Villa of San Cristobal of Havana, which will be celebrated on the 16th of November 2019.
“This is not a target. It is an opportunity. The city needs it.” These were the words of the city’s historian Eusebio Leal when referring to the events that are taking place to celebrate its foundation.
And it is the institutions, companies and organisations, as well as the actual inhabitants themselves, that are engrossed in diverse activities and development plans aimed at extolling the values of this city that is both old and y et modern.
Of course, the tourist sector is involved in this celebration, and as part of this operation is the renovation of its institutions and renewal of its products, perfecting the offers that are available to over four million tourists that visit us each year, of which 70%, at some point, pass through Havana.
Transtur, since the end of last year, began the restoration of its fleet of cars destined for various modes of rent throughout the whole country. Over 1,000 cars in both economy and medium categories were received during this period, and 400 Hyundai Grand I 10 were launched in 2019, a compact vehicle that is in high demand by clients, and a new addition to a catalogue with options well suited to the market.
In the first semester of this year the number of new cars exceeded that of 2,000, in those categories most demanded by clients. Among the most recent acquisitions are found the Kia Picanto, the Renault Sandero and the Peugeot 301, models that are recognised to be of international prestige, that display modern features and have a good correlation between price and quality.
With this addition in quantity and quality to the fleet, and, above all, with a group of professionals noted for their friendliness and pleasant manners, Transtur aspires to pay its best homage to the city with a service of excellence so that each visitor can enjoy to the full the charms of our Havana: captivating and romantic, historic and hospitable; simply “authentic and wondrous”.
