Karen Santin: red, blue and white

For Karen Santin, wellknown Cuban designer, the colors red, blue and white have a great significance because, first of all, they are the colors of the Cuban flag and, secondly, they inspired her for her newest collection &Mi tierra", dedicated to highlighting the beauty and values of women in her country with no distinction of age.

For some time, Karen’s design work has been focused more on women than on men, for which she has been most inspired by the memory of her mother. She is inspired also by her daughter Ana, a teenager who challenges her daily to be more hip, and by the Latin woman who, at whatever age, is a show-off and likes to look good.

The collection presented in this edition was inspired by the colors of the Cuban flag that represent, among other attributes, purity, courage, freedom, the warrior and fighting spirit, undeniable conditions of the woman from the largest of the Antilles.
