Spanish hotel chain Iberostar has done business with Cuba for 20 years now and continues expanding capacities in the island, pretending to hoist the quality of its services in the country with the rest of its facilities worldwide.
In an exclusive interview with CubaPlus during the recently concluded International Tourism Fair FITCuba 2019, Oscar Luis Gonzalez, CEO of Global Marketing of Iberostar Hotels, he assured the entity he represents will continue operating in Cuba, in spite of the campaigns that pretend to discredit the greater of the Antilles, which is evidenced by the hard work they are doing to improve the services of their facilities in the Caribbean nation.
“The idea is, he assured, that thwe machinery at the commercial, marketing and operational level works hard so Cuba reaches the same quality level in hotel facilities offered to its clients in the rest of Iberostar hotels worldwide”.
Among the plans of Iberostar is to increase our room capacities in Cuba to 12 thousand with the opening of operations located in other regions of Cuba where we havew none at present.
The main segment of the Iberostar market in Cuba is those who come to beach resorts, although at present the company is already managing city hotels and mentioned among others the Central Park. Others have been added in the Grand category, such as the one in Trinidad and the most recent opening of the Grand Packard, for a high standard segment.
Further on, he said, in order to keep raising the level of the Iberostar product, by refurbishing buffet equipment, among other measures, we have a project to work in the future the wedding segment and sports tourism, as cycling, the latter with very good options in Cuba.
Finally he referred to a fundamental issue like protection of the environment. On this subject he said we are working strong as to the elimination of plastics, practice of responsible fishing as well as a project for the preservation of corals, in order to achieve a harmonic coexistence between man and nature.
