Aromas are those smells that are detected through smell, both of people and animals and can stimulate appetite, for example, or provoke some memory.
Roses, violets, or other flowers give off extremely pleasant aromas that, on occasions, lead to memories of some event that has happened to a person or perhaps of a visited place where they lived unforgettable moments.
It can be, for example, the longed-for first kiss of love received in adolescence or a moment of great tenderness and passion with the loved one. Also, there are many other types of aromas such as fruit, which bring freshness and sweetness to the environment and fuel the desire to eat an apple, or a mango, an orange or a guava, especially in the hot summer months of the tropics.
And what do you say about food aromas that are also known by the name of food essences? They are concentrates, flavorings or extracts that provide flavors and odors to products, which stimulates the appetite.
According to scientific studies, the sense of smell can detect 10 basic odors: floral, woody or resinous, fruity, chemical, minty or refreshing, sweet, burnt or smoky, citrus, rotten, and acrid or rancid.
Now you can get an idea of the importance of the sense of smell, as the nose is home to millions of olfactory receptor cells that pick up aromas that travel through the air in the form of very small particles that enter the nostrils.
So, take care of your nose, because your smell is one of the five senses of the human being, extremely important, since it allows you to choose food, avoid damage and, on many occasions, even choose one’s partner.
