Cuba Brings Consular Services Closer to Eastern Dominican Region

Cubans and Dominicans participated this Sunday in a mobile consulate session and business forum organized by the Embassy of Cuba in San Pedro de Macorís, a province in the eastern region of the Dominican Republic.

As is customary, the diplomatic mission brought consular services directly to residents in the locality and surrounding areas, aiming to save them from traveling to the capital.

The event also provided an opportunity to address migration, consular, and current affairs topics related to the island.

During the activity, the Ambassador of Cuba to the Dominican Republic, Ángel Arzuaga, delivered a presentation on the economic and social transformations in his country, business opportunities for local entrepreneurs and resident Cubans, as well as trade and investment prospects.

Arzuaga refuted the U.S. claim that Cuba poses a threat to its national security, maintaining that it is an unfounded narrative by the White House to justify its policy of genocide and collective suffocation against the Cuban people, driven by the tightening of the economic blockade and the energy siege.

During the gathering, attendees rejected military aggression threats by the U.S. Government against Cuba and reaffirmed the historical bonds of brotherhood uniting the peoples of both Caribbean nations.

In addition to diplomatic officials, Zulema Lobaina, a board member of the Máximo Gómez Association of Cubans residing in this territory, was also in attendance.
