The delegation of the Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR) in the western Cuban province of Matanzas on Friday confirmed the arrival of the first flight with foreign holidaymakers in Varadero on October 25, after that coastal resort was opened to international markets.

According to a press release from MINTUR, it is a commercial operation by the German tour operator TUI with vacationers from the United Kingdom, who will arrive at Varadero's Juan Gualberto Gomez International Airport on October 25 at 15:40 hours, local time.

MINTUR Representative in Matanzas Ivis Fernandez noted that the chaining between the airport and the transportation system (taxis and buses) follow all health protocols against Covid-19.

Cuba's major coastal resort opened a new stage on Thursday, when it declared itself ready to resume operations with international markets, after taking appropriate health measures to prevent contagions with the SARS Cov-2 coronavirus.
