Cuban Art Factory among world’s 100 best music and art places
By Rose Ross
Established in 2014, the Cuban Art Factory (FAC) has hosted the best in art, crafts and music in the country and in other nations that have participated in exchanges and cultural events.
It offers spaces for the enjoyment of all kinds of artistic manifestations, be it music, visual arts, performing arts, crafts, and of course, taste excellent cocktails and dishes of Cuban and international cuisine.
This center, located in the Vedado neighborhood of the capital on Calle 26, between 11 and 13, defines itself in its profiles on social networks as “a great laboratory for interdisciplinary creation that exposes the best of contemporary Cuban art, with a marked social and community focus. It is an old oil factory transformed into a cultural space.”
Last year, the FAC was included in the list of the 100 best places in the world (World´s Greatest Places) published annually by Time magazine.
The list includes world-renowned museums, national parks, galleries, hotels, cruises, restaurants, and, of course, being on the list is an honor and a commitment to keep up the quality of the proposals to the public.
Regarding what this award means, X Alfonso told the country's media that “it is an award to perseverance, a sense of belonging and sacrifice. This reaffirms and shows that despite the great difficulties, needs and disadvantages that we have, it is possible, there is no fear, you have to support and open your mind to new possibilities.
As Charles Chaplin once said: If you don't dream, you will never find what is beyond your dreams.”
