Hotels in Cuba nominated for important prizes
Hotels run in Cuba by the Spanish chain Melia Hotels International were nominated to different prizes at the 28th edition of the World Travel Awards, according to an official statement on Thursday.
A message circulated by Melia in Havana on Thursday notes that this is one of the most prestigious awards for the tourism industry in the world. These awards are grouped by category, regions and countries.
Cuba's Leading Hotel (main hotel) award was granted to Melia Cayo Coco and Melia Cohiba, emblematic hotels located in Jardines del Rey and Havana, respectively.
The Level Master Suite Room of Melia Cohiba, an exclusive product of The Level by Melia Hotels & Resorts brand, was nominated under the category of Cuba's Leading Hotel Suite.
Melia Las Dunas, Paradisus Princesa del Mar Resort & Spa, Paradisus Rio de Oro Resort & Spa and Paradisus Varadero Resort & Spa are also competing for Cuba's Leading Resort prize.
The award-winning hotels and resorts will be announced at the 2021 Caribbean Gala Ceremony, slated for October 2 in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.
The World Travel Awards annually grant prizes to facilities, services and travel agencies across the globe that have a record of excellence in their annual performance.
These awards are granted on the basis of the analyses by specialized websites and surveys to professionals from the tourist sector.
