Iberostar will receive 150 German travel agents this Saturday

With the arrival in Varadero this Saturday of 150 travel agents and tour operator representatives from the German market, the Iberostar hotel group will celebrate the reactivation of this destination, key for the Spanish chain.

A press release of the entity's representation in Havana adds that travel agents and representatives of large German tour operators will arrive on a Cóndor Airlines flight, the first from Germany to land in Cuba after the temporary closure of the destination due to the pandemic, in order to know the protocols that guarantee a safe stay.

During the visit, these professionals will attend a workshop called Cuba Travel Market, at Iberostar Selection Varadero, which will first feature the Kuba Tourismus Panel discussion with Cuban suppliers.

They will also participate in a Top Talk –at the Iberostar Grand Packard- attended by the CEOs of Cóndor and DER Touristik; the president of Schauinsland Reisen and that of DRV; the ambassador of Germany in this country, and the global commercial director of the Iberostar Group.

Also present will be the President of Group Iberostar, Miguel Fluxá, CEO Sabina Fluxá, and CSO Gloria Fluxà. The Mallorcan group restarts operations in Cuba with the reopening of six of its hotels, in which more than 300 measures have been implemented through the “How We Care program: We take care of everything to take care of you, to guarantee a safe environment, standards of hygiene, social space and an innovative experience”.

In this regard, Miguel Fluxá, Chairman of the Iberostar Group, said that “We are very happy to reopen hotels in a destination as important as Cuba, where the Iberostar Group has been operating for almost 30 years”.

“We have worked for months to get to this moment and our ‘How We Care health security program’ has already been an example of success in other destinations where we operate ”.

For his part, Ralf Teckentrup, CEO of Cóndor, stated that "Germans want to go on vacation and feel comfortable and safe while doing so, especially when traveling in times of COVID-19.

Cuba meets all the conditions for a perfect getaway: warm temperature of Caribbean beaches, good hotels and wonderful beaches to bathe and relax.

For 65 years, Condor has taken its guests safely and reliably to vacation destinations, and will continue to do so even at special times like these”.
