Prensa Latina says: ready, set, go to its annual sports survey

The Latin American news agency Prensa Latina announced the presentation of its 56th sports survey, convened each year, to choose the best athletes in Latin America and the Caribbean.

An official note from the agency adds that in the survey, started on November 1 and whose results will be announced on December 19, all Cuban and international media can participate.

On this occasion, the survey will choose the main female and male athletes, the best team of the year and the FIVE most outstanding teams without distinction of sex, after the final calculation of the votes.

In the past year, the Colombian Caterine Ibargüen, triple jump, Cuban Juan Miguel Echevarría, long jump and the Domadores de Cuba boxing squad were chosen as winners of the athletics survey.

In the first contest launched, the winner was Cuban sprinter Enrique Figuerola, a silver medal at the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games, in the 100 flat meters.

Next Monday 4, Prensa Latina will publish a list of candidate suggestions, among the most outstanding athletes of this year in the region.
