Science and Technology Forum Held in Clinic "Camilo Cienfuegos"

   The 25th Forum of Science and Technology of the International Clinic “Camilo Cienfuegos” was held at the institution’s headquarters with magnificent results in favor of the improvement of medical and healthcare services, as well as in the economic and gastronomic fields.    In statements to this magazine, Dr. Lázaro Joaquín Pérez, director of the institution, dedicated to attending foreign patients who travel to Cuba to receive treatment for different conditions, considered that event of great importance, since it contributed to the improvement of the clinic from all points of view.    This forum, added Dr. Pérez, is held every year with the purpose of offering a better quality of services for all those who demand our assistance. This time, the event had it a special connotation because it is part of our tribute to the 500th anniversary of The foundation of Havana.    The forum lasted two days. The first session dedicated to discussing issues related to medical care, which included aspects related to the consequences of alcoholism on the sexual health of middle-aged women; autofluorescence in patients with Retinitis Pigmentosa; emergency contraception; epileptic status; bacterial resistance. Also global phenomenon and rich platelet ozonized plasma, introduction and treatment.    Topics such as the documentary management of the clinic were also addressed; the comprehensive computer management system, the migration of the institution's communications infrastructure and the use of the internet in Cuba.    The final session, called "Salud Chef", which was attended by the President of the Culinary Association of Cuba, Eddy Fernández, was dedicated to healthy Cuban cuisine, with chicken as the protagonist.

  The institution's team of chefs, headed by chef Orlando Cárdenas, presented numerous chicken-based dishes, a sample of the many ways in which that protein can be prepared in a healthy and appetizing way.
