For Eduardo Mederos, manager of the specialized tourism agency, Amistur, all the tourists the agency has brought to Cuba in 15 years have received an authentic sense of Cuba’s reality.
Speaking with CubaPLUS, Mederos said that in these last 15 years Amistur has achieved its raison d’être: helping to strengthen the solidarity with Cuba movement.
Amistur has developed a unique tourism in Cuba. Those who come through this agency, apart from enjoying the beauties of the island, visit social and economic institutions to learn how the Cuban people live.
“We know we have achieved our goal of bringing interested people closer to Cuba because each day more friends come to Cuba.”
Mederos concluded our interview by saying that this year in September, with five decades of revolutionary government completed, Cuba will again welcome the Japanese Cruise for Peace that brings hundreds of friends to learn about Cuban life.
