Guyanese Spirits Awarded Prestigious Monde Selection Quality Awards

XM Rum & Spirits has been honored with Monde Selection Awards for its 5-, 12-, and 15-year-old aged rums, a distinction that underscores the exceptional quality of these spirits, the company recently announced.

These rums, along with Maximum Vodka, secured gold medals at the prestigious Monde Selection International Quality Awards. According to company executives, this achievement serves as major international recognition of their employees' dedication, precision, and patience. It also highlights the company’s long-standing commitment to maintaining global quality standards and excellence in flavor, aroma, and production.

During a recent press conference, distillery executive Gregory Garraway noted that these accolades are a direct result of the company’s steadfast adherence to international benchmarks.

“I am proud to highlight that our rum and vodka plant holds ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management and ISO 22000:2018 Food Safety Management certifications,” Garraway stated.

“We are committed to building upon our legacy of excellence, delivering quality products and services, generating strong financial results, and ensuring effective management that serves the interests of our shareholders, employees, customers, suppliers, and the communities in which we operate,” he added.

This milestone comes shortly after Banks DIH Limited was also honored at the Monde Selection Quality Awards 2026. The company secured multiple gold medals recognizing five of its standout beverages, cementing its reputation as a globally recognized standard for product excellence.

Established in Belgium in 1961, Monde Selection is an international quality institute that evaluates consumer products from around the world to award them distinguished quality seals of approval.
