U.S.-based Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Guyanese developer RJR Investments & Holdings recently announced an agreement to add the Atlantic Suites Hotel in Georgetown to Hyatt’s portfolio as an affiliated property.
The deal marks a major milestone, representing the American hospitality group’s entry into the Guyanese hotel market. The project also includes the construction of a new tower adjacent to the property, connected to the existing building via a pedestrian bridge.
The new tower, representing an estimated investment of approximately $50 million, is scheduled for completion in 2028 and will expand the Atlantic Suites Hotel's capacity to a total of 240 rooms.
Additionally, the expansion will feature new amenities, including an exclusive restaurant, a gourmet market, lobby and rooftop bars, as well as dedicated spaces for corporate meetings and events.
