After a two-year pause caused by the pandemic, Cubans have returned to meeting visitors face-to-face, an extremely important moment for this most gregarious of countries, and supercharging the chances of promoting exports and attract foreign investment.
We begin the year wishing you all a healthy, happy and prosperous 2021; success for everyone, and that the present edition of CubaPLUS Magazine will meet your expectations.
Summer is a long-awaited time in the whole world, as children and adults alike take their well-deserved vacations after many months of study and work. The tropics is a region that is best at rest between July and August and nothing better than the sun and the beach to enjoy the hot summer.
We are now approaching the height of summer in Cuba and as always people are making vacation plans. Some want to rest and spend a few days in peace after a year of hard work. Younger ones want to have fun once school's out for summer, to go back and take on the next school year with their batteries charged.
Cuba's International Tourism Fair (FITCUBA) is the most momentous event for this industry in the Greater Antilles and one of the most important in Latin America and the Caribbean. Every year there is a growing number of participating tour operators and travel agencies that promote Cuba as a destination.
In this last edition for 2015, CubaPLUS brings you an article on Cuban beaches, highlighting how tourists can not only take advantage of the warm coastal waters, but can also enjoy many recreational activities such as fishing, scuba diving, sailing on catamarans and many other water sports.
Dear Readers, Havana´s International Trade Fair is one of Cuba´s most important annual commercial events. The present edition of Cubaplus contains several related articles, including the future development of the national economy, foreign investment in the country as well as the work of CANEC S.A.
Summer and the sea, they are inextricably intertwined, and that's especially true in Cuba. In this issue of Cubaplus, a number of our stories, options and offers have something to do with the sea and its special relationship with the people of this beautiful Caribbean island. Here are a few highlights.
We warmly welcome you to Issue #21 of Cubaplus magazine. Once again, we have interesting and informative articles for your reading pleasure.
I am pleased to welcome you to Issue 16 of Cubaplus. Being part of the Cuba International Craftsmanship Fair FIART 2010 and having this issue of Cubaplus dedicated to Art in Cuba is very exciting. As a country where, just by walking its streets, you can appreciate art and culture at first glance, we are very glad to be included in this project and to keep you updated on the Cuban art scene.
It gives me great pleasure to present issue 11 of CubaPLUS, immediately with much thanks and gratitude to all that participated. Giving individual recognition would be a long list but in any case you know whom you are and I warmly applaud you, as we all love Cuba. A welcome change to our readers: CubaPLUS is now offered in both French in English, as it will be in future issues. We are here highlighting Expo-Québec and the Havana International Trade Fair.
Issue six of CubaPlus magazine was a lot of fun for us to put together for you. Naturally, as has become our tradition, we included a bit of Cuban reality you may not see in Canadian media: something of Cuba's successes in science or medicine, a taste of her justifiably famous music, arts and sports, including conversations with the artists, and a glimpse of flora and fauna in one of the many protected nature spots.
We are pleased to bring you our new magazine. My objective in founding this publication is to present to you what is available in Cuba that will both educate and entertain. We hope to reach Canadians who have or are interested in visiting Cuba. We will work in conjunction with the travel industry to promote family oriented vacations to Cuba. We will also cooperate with Canadian solidarity groups that have for many decades supported the struggle and achievements of the Cuban people.
