We are extremely delighted to present to you issue 10 of CubaPLUS magazine and before I describe it to you, I would first like to express my warmest welcome to the new Cuban Ambassador to Canada, Her Excellency Ms. Teresita de Jesús Vicente Sotolongo and the new Cuban Consul General in Toronto Mr. Jorge F. Soberón Luis. Part of our magazine's intention is to deliver the best and most accurate information on Cuba in Canada and the world. I know both the ambassador and the consul wish us the best and I am extremely grateful for their support.
This new PLUS issue is primarily dedicated to tourism and fashion. Our main feature article explains the founding of the Spanish cities in Latin America in the 16th Century. This was one of the most significant processes begun in the history of humanity. The main Cuban heritage cities are thus featured in an excellent article by Ciro Bianchi. The city that is my personal favorite is Cienfuegos, in part because of the appealing Parisian-style boulevards. So it was very special to return there and renew my acquaintance by taking photographs and studying the city's great architecture.
Among this issue's other articles is one on the Varadero Golf Club located on one of the most beautiful resort beaches in the Caribbean. Many golf lovers have asked us to provide information on where to practice this popular sport in Cuba. Another of my favorite articles this time is the feature about the Santisima Trinidad ship. The model created for the Havana Naval Museum is the result of great collaboration between Cubans and Canadians.
