Dear Readers:
For many, a virtual event might seem like a challenge; however, today's technology allows an online gathering to be even more impactful than an in-person one, giving us the opportunity to explore the world without leaving home.
With this in mind, the 44th edition of FITCuba 2026 will hold its professional sessions virtually. This decision responds to the energy difficulties Cuba is facing due to the United States embargo, which has limited air connections because of fuel supply restrictions.
Nevertheless, the fair will keep its spirit alive with an in-person day at the iconic Josone Park in Varadero, where the public will be able to enjoy music and entertainment for the whole family.
During the pandemic, the world learned that virtual platforms can be a remarkably successful tool. Through the platform fitcuba.net, participants will be able to explore virtual stands, attend presentations, and engage in real-time conversations with executives from the tourism sector, just as if they were walking through a physical exhibition hall.
As has been tradition for nearly 20 years, CubaPLUS Magazine accompanies this event. In this edition, in addition to the latest in tourism and health, we are proud to present the talent of three exceptional creators: visual artist Boris Pérez, who elevates fabric and thread to the level of fine art; photographer Yadiel Veunes Alonso, whose lens captures the fragility of our endemic birds as a call for conservation; and the fashion brand Línea & Medida, which rejects standard sizing to create garments that celebrate the uniqueness of real bodies.
We invite you to immerse yourself in these stories and to visit our website, www.cubaplusmagazine.com, to discover the vibrant socioeconomic and cultural reality of the largest of the Antilles.
Cordially yours,
Dominic Soave/ General Director
