 Awarded Cuba like the safest country in Tourism Fair in Madrid

Cuba received the Excellency award like the safest country for tourism in the context of the International Fair of this sector FITUR 2018 which takes place up to January 21 in Madrid. 

The award was received by the Cuban minister of Tourism, Manuel Marrero who heads the delegation from the island to that event, announced in his Twitter account Gustavo Machin, ambassador of the biggest island of the Antilles in Spain. 

Likewise, the delegation of the Caribbean country is composed by directives of the main hotel chains, members of the management higher organization Viajes Cuba and Cubasol as well as the associates Melia Hotels, Iberostar, Blue Diamond, among others. 

In this occasion are include Cuban Medical Services (SMC) and the chain of stores Caracol, this last one represented by the traditional cigar maker Jose Castelar Cairo (Cueto), who possesses several records Guinness to elaborate the longest Havana cigars in the world. 

In the context of the fair, which was opening last Wednesday by the Spain’s King and Queen Felipe VI and Letizia respectively, will be present the mean European and Canadian tour operators. 

The Spanish market, is very important to Cuban tourism since last year this segment reached a 10.5 percent increase as a source of tourists toward the Caribbean nation, precise the official statement of the Cuban Ministry of Tourism. 

This year we will continue working to diversify the touristic product that is current marketed with a view to improving that market.
