10th Excelencias Gourmet International Gastronomic Seminar concludes CubaPLUS
After three days of intense work, the 10th International Gourmet Excellencies Seminar concluded today with a positive balance, as it allowed the almost 400 participants a fruitful exchange of opinions and knowledge of Hispanic cuisine.
Lectures, master classes, presentations and cooking shows were at the center of activities, during which numerous topics were addressed, including the high gastronomy in Cuban hospitality, techno-emotional cuisine, Dominican, Peruvian and Mexican gastronomy, among others.
One of the most anticipated moments of the event was the 25th anniversary cooking contest of Excelencias, in which José Álvaro Barrios Ruiz (Bar Restaurant The Brothers and Restaurant El Rico Rico) and Julián Kim Rodríguez (Bar Restaurant Kilómetro Zero) stood out.
In the opinion of those attending, this type of meeting is very beneficial as it makes it possible for chefs from Latin America and Spain in general to be updated regarding everything related to culinary techniques, as well as the canteen and be able to access new recipes.
A special mention went to Cuban cuisine, as attendees were able to try numerous preparations and learn about the news that the largest of the Antilles presents in as far as gastronomy is concerned, taking into account that one of the attributes with which the island's tourism sector counts is precisely its culinary offerings, since in 2019 the Cuban cuisine was declared Cultural Heritage of the nation.
This 10th Seminar, held at the emblematic Tropicana cabaret in Havana, was held in the context of the 25th anniversary of Grupo Excelencias, the centenary of the Association of Cuban Bartenders and as part of the Week of Spanish Culture program on the island and It had the endorsement of several institutions of the sector, including the Ramal School of Tourism, Cuba, FORMATUR; the Ibero-American Academy of Gastronomy and the Ministry of Tourism.
