The 14th Varadero Gourmet International Festival was opened this Wednesday at the Plaza América fairgrounds by the president of the organizing committee of the event, Jorge Luis Acosta Paula.
Speaking at the opening, the director of the Palmares extra-hotel group also highlighted the importance of the event that will contribute to enhance the evolution of Cuban gastronomy. During the three days of the festival, numerous activities will take place, including product presentations, conferences on Cuban food, as well as cocktail and culinary competitions, among others.
The opening ceremony was also attended by the Vice Minister of Tourism Yamily Aldama, the president of the Cubasol extra-hotel group, Luis Martínez, Janette de Armas, head of events for the Ministry of Tourism and other officials from the sector, from the government of the province of Matanzas and as a special guest the five-time Olympic champion Mijaín López.
This edition of the festival has the participation of numerous businessmen and professionals from the sector, 27 exhibitors from nine countries including China, Spain, France, England, Russia, the United States, Venezuela, Chile and Cuba.
