The 39th edition of the Havana International Fair closes its doors

The 39th edition of the Havana International Fair (FIHAV) 2023 closed its doors, after six days of intense activities, during which numerous agreements were made between Cuban and foreign companies. At the conclusion of the commercial part this Friday – today the fair was open to the general public – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment (Mincex), Ricardo Cabrisas, highlighted that this event showed that the island is not alone, which is reflected in the presence of important friends and strategic partners, willing to get involved effective in the 2030 economic and social plan.

IMG_8378.jpgDuring the days of activities, more than 150 instruments were formalized, commercial and legal, of which 14 correspond to export contracts, 10 for import, and 82 cooperation agreements and letters of intent, which presuppose links internally and with foreign partners. Likewise, 10 production or service contracts were established between different economic actors, four memoranda of understanding and three foreign investment deals, of which two correspond to mixed companies and one with totally foreign capital.

In another part of his speech, the head of Mincex also referred to the presence of numerous Cuban businessmen residing abroad with an interest in promoting and contributing to the development of this country, while he mentioned the holding for the first time of the youth forum of businessmen, attended by representatives from more than a dozen nations and regional youth organizations. This Friday the traditional awarding ceremony took place, where quality was recognized of products, design and social communication.

IMG_8466.jpgNearly 20 awards were granted to national products and entities, among them the new Parranda beer, which won the Grand Prize for Comprehensive Communication, while the Gold Medal for quality of products included the Perla Gris Especial cement, the Dentifresh toothpaste, the mattress Gran Habana Lujo, the D39 Havana perfume for men, the extra rum Añejo 100 years Bodegas Don Pancho, York ham, Piñata sugar-free instant soft drink and natural mineral water.

This event, considered very beneficial for the country, was attended by representatives of nearly 800 companies from 60 nations and it was already announced that the 40th edition of FIHAV will take place from November 5 to 9 of next year.
