The organizing committee of the Havana International Fair (FIHAV 2023) has just called its next edition, to be held at its usual ExpoCuba venue from November 6 to 11.
The call, signed by the Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment and President of the FIHAV Organizing Committee, Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, announces the details of the meeting and adds as a novelty that it is desired to have for the first time a pavilion of Cubans residing abroad who currently have relations of business with their native country, which could be joined by others in the process or with the intention of establishing economic ties with the island.
The event, which has been held since 1983, is the most important in the country in terms of trade and one of the most transcendental in Latin America and the Caribbean, as it is an excellent business platform for new companies in the market and for those already established. On this occasion, the document adds, in addition to the large exhibition fair, multiple activities will be carried out, including business meetings, business rounds, seminars, and conferences.
Likewise, one of the most anticipated moments will take place: the VI Investment Forum, which is repeated as an excellent opportunity for national and foreign businessmen to hold bilateral meetings, also for potential foreign investors, as well as to continue sharing ideas about the challenges faced by island entities in terms of attracting investment. In addition to this, activities will be carried out to promote Cuban exportable funds that will include productions and services of state and non-state management forms and, will be a representation of the Exporting Productive Poles, which already number 13 throughout the country.
Despite the difficulties imposed on Cuba by the intensification of the economic, financial, and commercial boycott of the United States, in 2022 FIHAV achieved successful results with the presence of business representatives from over 60 countries, more than twenty official delegations and 30 chamber entities.
It is for this reason that a broad presence of international business is expected, taking into account the growing interest that Cuban offers are arousing more and more as far as foreign investment and trade are concerned. The 39th edition of FIHAV is organized by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, the Palco Business Group, the Chamber of Commerce, and ProCuba.
