40th edition of FITCUBA, symbol of tourism reactivation

The 40th edition of the FITCUBA 2022 International Tourism Fair, to begin next Tuesday, is on this occasion a symbol of the sustainable reactivation of this activity in the largest of the Antilles, after the complex years that the country and the world in general have suffered, because of the pandemic.

This long-awaited and important event will also serve for foreign partners of the Cuba destination to learn about the news that the largest of the Antilles has in store for them and also for those who have yet to explore the beauties of Cuban beaches, nature and culture.

Prior to the opening of the fair in Plaza América, Varadero, the main headquarters of FITCUBA, a conference on sustainable tourism will be held under the title "Tourism for all generations", with the aim of exchanging best practices in this matter at international level, which constitutes the commitment with the present and future of the activity of this sector in the country.

According to information offered by the Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR) authorities, for the first time work is being done in favor of promoting a program called: Discover Cuba, which is aimed at capturing the attention of tour operators who still do not know the destination.

This plans to bring together potential investors, LLAA, hotel groups and tour operators from traditional markets, but especially from issuers little explored by Cuba, which will surely be a very profitable experience in favor of continuing to strengthen the so-called leisure industry in the country.

Within the fairgrounds there will be a space for the FITCuba MICE Expo, aimed at promoting the island as a destination for events and incentives and in which the calendar of these planned activities on all topics such as culture, sports, health, science, gastronomy, nature and tourism, will be presented among others.

Once again, FITCUBA will have the Technology Expo, so that both state-owned companies and new economic actors that are emerging in the nation, continue working together for the digitalization of this destination. The Business Expo brings several novelties because, in addition to promoting the portfolio of business opportunities, it will make it possible to visit projects of interest such as the Rio Canímar theme park and the Varadero Water Park.

On the other hand, and as in previous shows, all suppliers in the sector will also have the opportunity to exhibit their products and services with new offers to contribute to the proper development of the activity.

On this occasion, all tourist destinations in Cuba will participate with their own stand to promote and market their attractions, not only sun and beach, but also culture, heritage, gastronomy, nature, sailing and diving, among others.

Meanwhile, a special moment will be the relaunching of Cayo Largo del Sur, which this year celebrates its 40th anniversary. It can be said that during the days of the fair you will practically not sleep because at night FITCUBA will overflow the limits of Plaza América to take over the streets of Varadero, with cultural and gastronomic proposals, typical of each region of the country.

Finally, the participants will be able to live a beautiful experience during the post-tour with the launching of the tobacco route, a new tourist product, designed to show the best of tobacco know-how of workers in the sector on the island: from planting the plant to the finished product, a jewel of Cuban and world culture.

During the little more than two years of the pandemic, tourism in Cuba focused on conceiving new products and improving existing ones. For this reason, FITCUBA will be the most important showcase to present offers of the destination and the professionalism of its workers, always committed to the well-being of those who visit Cuba, one of the most demanded places by vacationers from all over the world.
