The 42nd edition of the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema will take place from December 3 to 13, and this time with a unique feature, as it will honor the health personnel who risked their lives in the fight against the new coronavirus in Cuba and the world.
According to a note on the official page of the event, Havana Film Festival, the slogan that governs the festival "What the doctor prescribed" alludes to that tribute and the poster is a Cuban medical prescription.
In times of inevitable references to medicine and healthcare personnel, it is not only important to heal the body, but to feed the soul. Cinema is an art and a means to keep the mind healthy", adds the note.
The information is an incentive for movie lovers in Cuba, since it also indicates that despite the uncertain panorama created by the pandemic that is plaguing the world at the moment, moviegoers can be certain that the capital's theaters will reopen their doors so they can enjoy the best Latin American and world cinema.
Registration to participate in this important event of the seventh art will be open until August 30 online for those who wish to compete in the categories of short and feature film, fiction and documentary, in opera prima, as well as animation works and posters.
