69th World Cocktail Championship ends with great success

The 69th World Cocktail Championship concluded this Tuesday with great success, after five days of competition, with the delivery of the long-awaited prizes.

The Best Bartender and great winner of the World Cup was Andrew Wilson, from Sweden, while the first place in flair (freestyle) was achieved by Kacper Smarz from Poland, and recognition as the best team was achieved by Armenia.

Likewise, representatives from Iceland, Germany, Japan, Portugal, Latvia, Ecuador, Austria, Italy, Sweden, Armenia, Austria and Poland were awarded in other forms of the World Cup. Many activities took place during the five days of the event, which was held at the Melí Internacional Hotel in Varadero, including workshops on classic local cocktails and visits to places linked to the country's rum tradition, such as the San José distillery, in the province of Mayabeque.

It is important to note that this event was held for the first time on the island, which deserved it, for having made many contributions to the world of the canteen, which was mentioned during the opening ceremony by Cuban Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero Cruz.

On the final day it was announced that Rome, the capital of Italy, will host the 79th edition of the World Cocktail Championship next year.

The mandatory base products during the event for the preparation of cocktails in competitions were the multi-awarded Añejo 3 Years, Añejo 7 Years and Masters Selection, from the Havana Club brand, main sponsor of the event.
