7th International Culinary Festival to be held in Havana

The Havana Convention Center will host the 7th International Culinary Festival scheduled for October 14-18, to honor the Cuban capital on its 500th birthday.

At a press conference, the President of the Federation of Culinary Associations of the Republic of Cuba (FACRC) Eddy Fernandez, announced the holding of this important meeting, which hopes to gather in Havana several hundred chefs, teachers, bartenders, sommeliers, culinary students and other professionals of the sector to debate and exchange experiences of the present and future cooking perspectives of the world.

This meeting, added Fernandez, will be a good opportunity to confront ideas, as well as to know about the current techniques used in the world in terms of the culinary topic.

"This occasion, he continued, will also serve to show, through master classes and workshops, the best and most innovative Cuban cuisine."

Nowadays, Cuban chefs, led by the President of the FACRC, work hard to achieve the place they deserve and be recognized as the nation's cultural heritage.

This Seventh Festival, venue resumed after 10 years, as the previous edition was held in 2009 in Santiago de Cuba, will have a non-competitive nature and will include an extensive program of master classes, workshops, culinary salon, barman shows, sommelier demonstrations and an associated exhibition.

There is also a special program for students that includes master classes taught by the most prestigious chefs of the world.    For more information you can contact:  Culinary Federation of Cuba, Havana Street • 304, between O Reilly and San Juan de Dios, Old Havana.
