"And if I get to kiss you like I've dreamed..."

April makes us playful, on the 13th, the international day dedicated to the kiss, that ineffable human action, blessed by the gods of the entire planet, practically accompanies us since our birth in the most endearing variants, including the one forever given to us by that song.

There are those who say in these cruel times of the Covid-19 pandemic that kisses have diminished in their physical manifestations and they are right, for reasons of the first order.

You have to take care of your health and even your life. However, there are foolish, stubborn people who have stolen furtive and insecure kisses at all cost, although I support those who have protected themselves more and have kissed with a loving gaze, good and supportive actions.

That is why it must be proclaimed on this April 13, 2022: the dream or real kiss has not died and will never die because it is the most sublime affective contact. At the same time, according to some, it benefits health by stimulating positive emotions, blood circulation and the production of chemical agents in the body that stimulate and sharpen intelligence and social entrepreneurship.

In other words, it can make you fly, float, dance... God knows if they're not exaggerating. We Cubans, who consider ourselves to be one of the most kissing peoples in the world, have suffered enormously in current times in which we have had to leave for later so many hugs and kisses of all kinds, from those of friendship, brotherhood and love-driven, inspired by eroticism and passion.

In the last years before the pandemic, the elderly had already noticed a kind of fever or an increase in kisses as a friendly manifestation among the youngest. Kisses on arrival, at farewell and during a meeting or encounter, with the greatest carefreeness.

A kind of kissing cult within friendship permeated everything. Things of  these times. Everyone calm down, however, because restrictions are already giving way, although one should not lower one's guard against the disease. It’s a thing of patience and balance.

They say that kisses were born in India, a long time ago, and that the Day dedicated by the world to celebrate them was established relatively recently, in a passionate kissing contest in Thailand, where the longest lasting kiss ever took place.
