The Mexican singer songwriter Armando Manzanero postponed the concerts planned in Havana until April 2018 for health reasons which doesn’t allow him to travel in this moment, confirmed the Cuban Institute of Music.
According to the official statement sent by the company in charge of the artist's presentations, for reasons concerning to the composer and singer's health, the concerts will take place the 21 and 22 of April.
Manzanero, who for the first time will act in stages of the island, has written more than 400 songs, some of them covered for distinguished artists like Alejandro Sanz, Luis Miguel, Frank Sinatra, Andrea Bocelli, Elis Regina, and Juan Gabriel. During the concerts the author of such popular songs as somos novios, contigo aprendi and esta tarde vi llover, will make a brief overview of his extensive discography and he will sing classic songs of his repertoire.
In more than five decades of musician career the well-known bolero singer has recorded a lot of albums, about 40 records, he also has written the music for many movies, and awarded important prizes and recognitions, among them, a Latin Grammy and a Prize to the Musical Excellence, granted by the Latin Academy of Recording.
The 82-year-old singer will arrive to Havana after promoting his most recent album titled tengo permiso whose songs were composed with his close friend's lyrics, doctor and writer José Antonio Ceballos.
