According to the director of the complex, Nadiezda Santamaría, the two most sold there are: the walk through the Taíno Village and the visit to the Crocodile Farm. The first can be accessed by boat or catamaran. There they will find 25 sculptures in natural size, work of the Cuban plastic artist Rita Longa, which represent the main activities carried out by the aborigines.

You can also enjoy artistic talent of a dance group, with typical dances of the Cuban aborigines, and a varied gastronomic offer, while in the stores you can buy handicrafts as souvenirs of the place.

There is the Guamá hotel, the flagship product of this destination, with 44 rooms in rustic cabins mounted on stilts, but with the suitable conditions for a comfortable stay. Of course, everything is very natural and in harmony, the executive clarified.

The excursion to the crocodile farm is the second most requested by visitors. Over there, the client can learn everything related to the life, characteristics and customs of the Cuban crocodile, typical of the Ciénaga de Zapata, where you can also enjoy various services, including bars, shops, restaurants and a beautiful musical show to entertain your stay.

Created in 1961, this product has as its main concept to develop this option in harmony with nature and the environment that surrounds it, said Santamaría. Other advantages that both tours offer is that they can be done with a guide or car, since fences are installed along the entire route where the client is provided with the information about the place where you are.

In the case of the Crocodile Farm trail there are also signs that explain the place and the characteristics of the Cuban crocodile. This responds to a conservation area of the park Zapata Swamp. You can also learn about the fauna that is part of the food chain of the Cuban crocodile, as well as other inhabitants of the area, including iguanas, jicoteas, jutias and the manjuarí, native to the swamp and considered a living fossil.

In essence, if you want to know the natural beauties and part of the pre-Columbian history of Cuba, the Zapata Swamp is your best option.
