Celebrations for the centennial of the founding of the Bartenders Association of Cuba (ACC) officially began this Wednesday in room 1930 of the Iconic National Hotel of Cuba.
Speaking at the ceremony, Eddis Naranjo, president of the association, meant the importance of that anniversary that he pointed out as 100 years of victories, to the time that he invited the attendees to celebrate the results achieved by that sector.For his part, Giorgio Fadda, president of the International Bartenders Association (IBA), described the celebration as historic because he considers the Cuban organization to be the most important in the world, since it is made up of prestigious bartenders, creators known internationally.
The official opening of the event began with the flag parade that began with the national flag, escorted by Dalila Naranjo, accompanied by the only Cuban world champion, in Seville, Spain 2003, Sergio Serrano, followed by the bartenders' flag, inherited in 1924, from the hands of the Pan American champion, Yardo González.
The parade closed with the current ACC insignia, worn by the winner of the Bar ladies contest in Atenas 2024, Kenia Borges, accompanied by the double Pan American champion, Nivaldo García. This Thursday, final day of the celebrations, the “Fabio Delgado in memoriam” and the prizes and diplomas will be presented to the winners.
The ACC has 1,500 members, of which 30 percent are women. It is a non-governmental organization, linked to the ministry of Tourism, belongs to the International Bartenders Association (IBA) and is sponsored by Habana Club International S.A.
