Conventions Palace, over four decades offering professionalism

With the celebration this September 3 of its 43rd anniversary, the Palace of Conventions of Havana reaffirms the reasons for which it was founded, since it has been and is the main stage of the most important international events that take place in Cuba and one of the main ones in the Caribbean region.

Inaugurated on that date of 1979 for the 6th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement, since then and until now, the venue has hosted more than 3,500 events with a number of over one and a half million participants. This facility of the Palco Business Group occupies an area of 60,000 square meters and has 11 air-conditioned rooms, equipped with modern technologies for audiovisual media and simultaneous interpretation.

It also has multipurpose premises, offices, restaurants, cafeterias, bars and other facilities that allow it to offer a complete service for holding all kinds of events and exhibitions. For just over two decades, it has had the Palco hotel, with which it communicates through a gallery of shops. This accommodation has 142 standard rooms, 24 junior suites, 11 superior junior suites and 1 executive suite, equipped with modern technologies, a business center and several meeting rooms, all designed to especially accommodate participants of events and fairs.

Regarding this anniversary, the professional congress organizer, Zósima López, explained to Prensa Latina the services that distinguish the institution in this tourism sector. An element that contributes to the prestige of the entity in the national and international market is the high specialization of its human resources, since they have professionals capable of bringing to reality, and in a personalized way, the expectations of the clients, considered the executives, who have been working at the Palace of Conventions for 41 years.

Regarding the experience that the pandemic had for the institution, she pointed out that it implied an opportunity to re-evaluate procedures and ways of doing things, and they subsequently began to develop hybrid mass participation events (face-to-face and digital). Currently, the corridors of the Palace, as everyone calls it, are not empty.

Quite the contrary. There has been a lot of movement so far this year, because several important national and international meetings and conferences have been held and future ones are being prepared, among which is the 4th International Congress of Economic Management, the International Forensic Sciences Congress 2022,  Agricultural and the International Congress of Legal Medicine in Cuba.
