New cruise ship of the Carnival Corporation arrives to Havana

The third Carnival Cruise Corporation ship Veendam, (Holland America Line office) docked last Thursday in Havana with 604 people on board. 

With a capacity of 1654 people, the Veendam will continue trip toward Cienfuegos city’s port, a province located in the south center of Cuba, and then to resumes its route for the Caribbean. 

Currently four American cruise companies operate in the biggest island of The Antilles: Carnival Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, Norwegian Cruise Line Holding and Pearl Seas LLP, with good results for both countries. 

Just as it was known, they plan to increase the arrival of cruise ships to the Island with the incorporation of a fifth company, the Victory Cruise Line.  

Upon arrival to Havana, the Veendam was received by the Cuban authorities with a warm welcome, while Orlando Ashford, President of Holland America Line, Carnival’s office, expressed his satisfaction to come back to Cuba and contributes to fulfill the aim of the company which is to connect cultures, to open minds and to inspire a shared sense of humanity. 

The Veendam cruise ship was built in 1996 and it is a half size and comfortable, excellent for its quality and services. All the cabins have two single beds which can become in double bed depending on the client request. 

They also attended to the reception of the Veendam, the general manager of the Cuba Maritime Administration, captain Jose Joaquin Prado Falero, the president of Aries S.A, José Luis Perdigon Ramirez, among other managers of Cuban companies and the Carnival corporation.
