Habanos S.A. began this Wednesday the celebrations for the 55th anniversary of the Cohíba brand, the most prestigious within the great catalog of that company, a world leader in the marketing of cigars.
The program of activities, which will run until next Friday, includes tasting of the famous cigar, pairings and a visit to the El Laguitos cigar factory and a Gala dinner, where several humidors will be auctioned, the proceeds of which will go to Cuban health system.
The participants in this great party, which are expected to be around a thousand fans from some 70 countries, will also be able to enjoy the performance of outstanding Cuban musicians and attend the Habano Man 2021 award ceremony in the production, marketing and communication categories.
This celebration was previously held in other countries, especially in Europe and Asia, together with the presentation of the Cohíba 55th Anniversary Limited Edition, a new presentation of the brand.
Emerged five and a half decades ago, the brand is the most prestigious worldwide and owes its name to the word used by the first settlers of Cuba, Taino Indians, to name the rolled tobacco leaves they smoked.
Habanos S.A. is the world leader in the commercialization of Premium cigars and last year it registered a growth in sales of 15 percent, achieving a total of 568 million dollars in revenue, according to official figures.
