Cuba chosen as the best destination in the Caribbean by the World Travel Awards

Cuba has just been chosen for the third consecutive year as the Leading Cultural Destination of the Caribbean for the World Travel Awards, considered the Oscars of tourism, reported this Sunday the Ministry of Tourism (Mintur) of the largest of the Antilles.

According to the Mintur note, for the granting of such distinction, it took into account the innumerable attractions that the island offers to its visitors, within the heritage cities such as Havana (west), Trinidad (center), and Santiago de Cuba (east).

Also added to these beauties are dance activities of great value such as son, the rumba and the French tomba, and the significant architectural monument samples in several cities of the nation.

In the competition for such awards, there were also destinations highlighted of the region, including Barbados, Bermuda, Jamaica, Martinique, Puerto Rico, and Trinidad and Tobago.

The World Travel Awards, which celebrate their 30th anniversary this year, recognize and reward excellence in all key sectors of the travel, tourism and hotels around the world and are granted according to the criteria of travelers and industry professionals, through their online vote to the establishments, attractions and pre-nominated service providers.
