Cuba expects to receive five million visitors next year, a 6.4 percent increase regarding 2017, said in Havana the Minister of Tourism, Manuel Marrero.
During his appearance before the Cuban Parliament’s Service Assistance Committee which is in session in the Havana International Conference Center, the head of this Minister, commented that it expects an increase of tourist-days, as well as the net income coming from that activity.
Canada, highlighted, will continue being the Cuba’s main source of tourists, in the meantime it is increasing the American visitors who came under the protection of 12 trip categories authorized by the White House, which have been restricted drastically since last November 8 because of the measures adopted by president Donald Trump’s Administration.

The Service Assistance Committee is integral part of the Tenth Period of sessions of the Cuban’s Parliament in its VIII Legislature, last meeting of the current year, whose purpose is to analyze the socio-economic results of 2017 and to establish the aims to achieve in the year that begins shortly.
