Cuban builders give priority to the works in the new International hotel in Varadero (to about 140 kilometers to the east of this capital) with which opening will incorporate 940 rooms to this famous resort. 

The work, in stage of completion -process that should finish in December of this year- is constructs in a place distant from the dune, but with exceptional beach conditions, declared to the Cuban Agency of News (ACN) Roberto Rovira, director of the Hicacos’ Tourism Works Construction and Assembly company. 

Rovira highlighted the architectural elements of the formerly emblematic facility of the XX century fifties, demolished and adapted to the requirements of the current tourism standards. 

Varadero resort, Cuba’s top tourist sun and beach destination, received in 2017 a figure record of a million 700 thousand foreign visitors, informed the Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR) recently.

Likewise, for tenth straight years the resort welcomed more than a million foreign tourists, and it maintains an upward growth rhythm of the domestic tourism, which is ranked among the first issuing segments. 

Canada kept its leadership as the main source of vacationers, while Germany consolidates its presence, and countries like Russia, Spain and France stand out to increase the vacationer arrivals, pointed out the source. 

Varadero consolidates like a tourist destination with favorable outcomes in its administration during 2017, in spite of the damages caused by the powerful hurricane Irma, completely recovered, the MINTUR emphasized. 

With the opening of the Iberostar Bella Vista managed by the Gaviota Hotel Group, in association with Iberostar, the resort’s hotel capacity reaches 21 388 rooms, more than 80 percent concentrated on high standard facilities, it said. 

The Ministry’s press release specified that its crystal clear waters tinged with different tones of blue, the whiteness and fineness of the sand, as well as the very slight sea bed slope make of Varadero beach the greatest attractiveness.
