Cuban writers, troubadours and dancers will participate in the XIX International Book Fair in the Bolivian city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra that will have as guest country to the Caribbean island, the organizers informed. 

Santa Cruz’s Book Departmental Chamber, headed by its president, Sarah Mansilla, concludes the details regarding Cuba attendance to this event, set for May 30 - June 10, published the newspaper The Duty. 

Mansilla communicated that eight writers of that Caribbean country will come to Santa Cruz, besides two troubadours, two dance couples and a lyrical singer. 

So far, she said, have confirmed their presence Eduardo Torres Cuevas, Jose Marti National Library’s Director who will participate in the librarians meeting, and the idiom specialist, Fernando Carr. 

The literary event will also have the attendance of the Mexican writer Margo Glantz as guest personality of honor. 

"The presence of the Chamber in the Havana International Book Fair has been very important to make official with Juan Rodríguez, president of the Cuban Book Institute, the participation of the children literature’s writers, narrators, poets and illustrators ", Mansilla specified. 

A Bolivian delegation headed by the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Wilma Alanoca, participates in the Havana Book Fair which is carry out in the Cuban capital up to February 11, where they launched the Evo Morales president's autobiography Mi vida, de Orinoco a Palacio Quemado (My life, from Orinoco to Quemado Palace). 

Bolivia’ stand exhibits around 45 titles, considered among the most representative of the country’s literature during the last 193 years.   In these days Alanoca and her Cuban homologous, Abel Prieto, subscribed an Executive Cooperation Program for 2018 and 2019 arrangement that leading to strengthen unity between both people, according to the sources. 

The signed agreement has 12 points, among those stand out cultural exchanges, fairs and training actions. 

Besides, the agreement considers, technical advisory in strategies design, the support for editor’s training and reading politicians, the exchange of conceptual and practical experiences in the cultural industries, as well as consultancy on art institutions’ management model. 

Another central theme in those nexuses is concerning audiovisual production, aspect in which the Cuban Art and Film Industry Institute and the International Cinema and Television School have a key role.
