Cuba hosts Congress on Hematology

The Hematology 2023 Congress opened on Monday in Cuba, where results and new breakthroughs in the field of immunology and transfusion, and regenerative medicine will be presented.

More than 500 participants from some 15 countries are attending the Congress, which is taking place at Havana’s International Conference Center until Friday, May 19.

Consensus and the exchange of work protocols related to the diagnosis and treatment of malignant diseases, as certain difficult conditions exist, not only for Cuba but also for the world in the post-Covid-19 context, are among its objectives.

A specific issue of the Congress will be the care and diagnosis of childhood acute leukemia, a disease on the rise in Cuba.

The Congress will consist of symposiums on multiple myeloma, hematology nursing, and emergency medicine.

The results related to the immunomodulatory action of Biomodulin-t and its effect on other diseases and the treatment of Covid-19 patients with peptides and monoclonal antibodies, such as Itolizumab, Nimotuzumab, and Jusvinza, will be presented during the meeting.
