The transcendence of the material and immaterial legacy of Cuba#39;s heritage cities marks the inauguration today of the XV International Symposium on Challenges in the Management and Administration of Cities.

The event coincides with the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Office of the Historian of the City of Camagüey (OHCC), an entity sponsoring it and one of the referents in the network of such institutions in the country.

The incredible and diverse problems of handling localities, the need for inclusion and the assimilation of modernity are among the main challenges for specialists," said OHCC director Jose Rodriguez.

Our models require a holistic look. That is how the perspective of the Network of Historian’s Offices evolves," the researcher insisted.

For his part, University of Barcelona professor Jordi Tresserras talked about the perspectives of Agenda 2030 for the objectives of a sustainable world plan in his lecture Heritage cities and local and community development.
