The International Book Fair (FIL) concluded its chapter 27^th in this capital and now it extends toward other provinces in Cuba, with its usual slogan &To read is to grow". 

In the San Carlos de la Cabaña Fortress, main event’s headquarters in Havana, took place since February 1, conversations, discussions, tributes, conferences, readings, books and magazines launching, prize giving activities, screenings, performing art shows, exhibitions and concerts. 

The International Book Fair continues being the most tremendously important event in the Cuban publishing sector and this year had the attendance of 41 nations. 

China stood out with the largest delegation to the event (more than 200 people) to be the 27^th edition’s guest country of honor, for which moved about seven thousand volumes to the Cuban capital in order to exhibit the richness of its very ancient culture. 

During the event, 122 exhibitors coming from 22 nations flooded into dissimilar spaces of the San Carlos de la Cabaña Fortress, the biggest military construction built by Spain in America, now transformed into a roomy cultural and museum complex in this capital. 

From 62 foreign publishing companies, stood out institutions from Peru, Spain and Panama, with a large number of representatives. 

In parallel to the main headquarters, the meeting was held at the same time in another 22 places scattered by all the city, because of its wide academic, artistic and literary program, impossible to concentrate on a single enclosure. 

The 27^th fair’s edition was devoted as personality to the doctor Eusebio Leal, Havana old city’s historian and a very admired investigator in Latin America. 

Once closed the chapter here, the event will begin its journey along the island until concludes next May 13 in the eastern province of Santiago de Cuba. 

Before, the fair will be carry out in Matanzas, Cienfuegos, Camagüey, Artemisa, Pinar del Rio, Ciego de Avila, Holguín, Las Tunas, Granma, Isla de la Juventud, Villa Clara, Mayabeque, Sancti Spíritus and Guantanamo, to consolidate its prestige like the greatest literary party in Cuba.
