Cuba will participate in the videogames event Global Game Jam
Cuban developers will participate for fourth occasion in the greatest videogames marathon in the world: The Global Game Jam, according to a report of the official press.
At the University of Computer Sciences, located in Havana, in January 26-29, the developers will try to create entertaining, creative and experimental products, Granma newspaper confirmed.
At the moment there are 64 teams and 320 enrolled participants, specified the Cuban daily.
During the Global Game Jam programmers, designers, modelers, musicians and illustrators collaborate to create an own videogame in 48 hours.
The event has world extent, and the Cuban headquarters will be synchronized with more than 700 places around the planet.
The coordinator of the activity in Havana, Reinaldo Garcia, declared that we expect this edition provides new experiences and that the participants acquire valuable abilities about prototypes creation.
The collaborative environment, based on the interaction platform offers by the event, guarantees the creativity and the learning, and establishes spaces for the development of later games, the engineer added.
The Global Game Jam has the aim to encourage the innovation and the experimentation in the field of the recreational software, according to its official web page.
In the 2017 it had the participation of more than 36 thousand participants from 92 countries and the production was of seven thousand games.
