Cuba is participating with a stand in the 25th Mediterranean Tourism Exchange (BMT), which was inaugurated on Friday in the southern Italian city of Naples, with the participation of 450 national and foreign exhibitors.
Cuba is represented at the event by Tourism Counselor at the Cuban Embassy in Italy, Madelen Gonzalez Pardo, who highlighted the interest aroused by her country’s offers.
In statements to Prensa Latina, the official pointed out that although the Covid-19 pandemic paralyzed most tourist operations, Cuba created new options for the reopening and at this time, &several hotels have been incorporated into our portfolio," she noted.
In this regard, she mentioned the expansion of the hotel infrastructure in Havana with the presence of the Melia, Kempinski and Iberostar chains, and the incorporation as an investor of Indonesia’s Archipelago International with the recent inauguration of the Gran Aston Habana Hotel.
Iberostar, for its part, opened the Coral Level at Iberostar Selection Esmeralda, with 26 kilometers of pristine beaches on Cayo Cruz, in central Cuba, Gonzalez Pardo pointed out.
The BMT will take place for three days in an exhibition area of 20,000 square meters and six pavilions, where business events, conferences and specialized workshops will be held.
