Cuba reaches four million visitors

Cuba registered the figure of four million visitors so far, two months earlier than in the past year, which shows the confidence of the largest Antillean Island customers, the tour operators and travel agencies that commercialize this important Caribbean destination. At the reception ceremony, held at the Juan Gualberto Gómez de Varadero international airport, the delegate of the Ministry of Tourism in Matanzas, Ibis Fernández Peña, expressed the pride felt by the Matanceros for having been the headquarters of that event, since they have worked hard depending on the high season of tourism, which has just begun, after the ravages of Hurricane Irma, which damaged multiple hotel facilities in this resort and the northern keys of the country. All our facilities are ready to receive the more than one million 600 thousand vacationers that are expected to arrive in Varadero this year. He explained that Canada continues to be the first issuer of tourists to the island and, in the case of Varadero, about 70% of the visitors it receives come from that nation, although, he added, we must take into account other growing markets such as They are those of Germany, France, United Kingdom, Russia, Spain and Italy. During the current high season, which has just begun, it is expected to visit the island about four million 700 thousand vacationers.
