Cuba remains open and ready to welcome Canadians, the island’s tourism office in Toronto announced

The Cuban Tourism Office in Toronto has issued an advisory for Canadian holidaymakers, outlining the current status of the sector on the island. According to the release, all travel-related services—including hotel and non-hotel facilities—are operating normally.

“The tourism industry is functioning as usual, with sufficient fuel supply to support winter travel and beyond,” the statement says.

Tourist areas across the island are fully operational and supported by independent power networks with backup generators, ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience for guests without interruptions, it adds.

“The tourism infrastructure in Cuba remains operational, and we continue to welcome Canadian travelers without disruption,” said Lessner Gómez, Marketing Director at Cuba’s Ministry of Tourism.

The release notes that limited recent media coverage has raised questions about travel to Cuba; however, Canadian travelers can be reassured that Cuba remains open, hospitable, and fully operational.

Cuba continues to demonstrate resilience and warmth, and the country’s authorities extend their thanks to Canadians for their ongoing affection and support.

The Toronto office will continue to share regular updates, “so don’t forget to follow us for the latest travel information and news,” the statement concludes.
