The Cuban University of Matanzas (UM) will host the first edition of the International Workshop for Young Researchers from March 25 to 27 next year.
The event, which will bring together emerging researchers from Cuba and around the world under the slogan "Connecting Young Science for the Future," aims to foster scientific exchange between domestic and foreign researchers to promote sustainable development.
Topics related to technology, artificial intelligence, and industrial processes, all closely linked to sustainable development, will be addressed during the workshop.
Yasniel Sánchez, national coordinator of the Ministry of Higher Education's (MES) young researchers' network, noted that the event will take place in person, with researchers from various Cuban provinces and countries such as Ecuador and Russia already expressing interest in participating.
"This type of forum is highly beneficial for young people, as it enables the interconnection of ongoing research within the country, helps focus it on local development, and contributes to the creation and implementation of new approaches," he added.
Sánchez, who also holds a PhD in science and coordinates the activity, explained that the hospitality of these higher education institutions facilitates the involvement of multidisciplinary and multi-sectoral projects, all aimed at contributing to the nation's development.
