The visit in January of the president of the World Baseball and Softball Confederation, Ricardo Fraccari, is welcomed by lovers of the sport of balls and strikes in Cuba.
According to what was announced by the national commissioner Juan Reinaldo Pérez to the press, the Italian manager will arrive in Havana on January 13 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the start of the National Baseball Series, on January 14, 1962.
To commemorate the anniversary, Pérez said, different activities will be carried out in all the provinces, in addition to being chosen as the day to flag the 16 teams participating in the 61 Series of Cuban baseball.
Fraccari#39;s stay in Cuba will last until the 18th, during which time he will give a press conference and evaluate topics of common interest, such as the sponsorship of the National Series of the Teammate brand.
Regarding the upcoming baseball season, Pérez confirmed that the teams will be formed between January 4 and 11, while the technical conference for the event will take place two days later. Likewise, the ball commissioner on the island recalled that the awards Gala corresponding to the 60th campaign will be held on January 21 in the eastern province of Granma, home of the Alazanes, champions of the last series.
Meanwhile, the Mártires de Barbados stadium in Bayamo will be the scene of the inaugural duel of the National Series 61 of baseball between the local Granma and the subtitle of the last contest, Matanzas.
