Cuban artists of plastic expose in honor to Mozart

Relevant figures of the plastic arts of Cuba expose in La Havana works created in tribute to the Austrian composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The influence of the genius of Salzburg, author of more than 600 creations, is perceptible in the five continents, and within Cuba is honored every year by a festival with its name that takes place in the Cuban capital. The Mozart Havana Festival of 2017 will be held from 21 to 28 October in several concert halls and, as in every the participation of instrumentalists from different countries. Regarding the event, Agustín Bejarano, Kamyl Bullaudy, Zaida Rio, Nelson Domínguez, José Luis Fariñas, Flora Fong, Ernesto García Peña, Manuel Mendive, Pedro Pablo Oliva and Cosme Proenza, among others artists of the plastic, constituted the exhibition of homage titled Ad Libitum (at will). The sample can be enjoyed until next November 8 in the Estudio-galeria Los Oficios, located in the oldest part of the capital. According to the curators Isachi Durruthy and Antoine Cedeño, in around Mozart converge and exhibit static experiences that transcend the framework of the strictly sound. The diversity of languages gathered in this exhibition not only honors the legacy of the genius of Salzburg, also of music as artistic manifestation capable of establishing unusual approximations with the universe of plastic arts, stated in the note of presentation. For Durruthy and Cedeño, symmetry, harmony, color, are components present in both arts, but imbricated in a discourse plastic that gives it unusual strengths. (PL)
